Nitrous Oxide Sedation

Nitrous oxide is administered when you’re in the treatment chair via a small mask that fits over your nose. It allows you to inhale a colorless, odorless gas that, within moments, helps you feel at ease. The nitrous oxide will help your nerves go to the wayside during your treatment or cleaning, creating a more relaxed experience.

Oral Conscious Sedation

For our patients who experience more moderate dental fear or anxiety, we also offer oral sedation. This is typically provided in the form of a pill, usually Valium or Halcion, that you take before your visit. The effects will kick in within about 30 minutes, helping you relax during your appointment. Because they can linger for several hours, you’ll need to have a family member or trusted friend prepared to drop you off and pick you up from our office.
